Qld Camping

Queensland camping offers the adventurer a diversified choice of camping options,  from the arid outback regions, to the beautiful Qld beaches and highland rainforests and everything else in between, Qld has it all.  It's one of the unique places where you can camp outdoors in pretty much any season of the year and each one presents the camper with a different and unique experience.

There are hundreds of camping spots all over Queensland but not all of them are up to scratch and some we've found are down right dreadful. More than once, we've pulled in to a camping spot because some camping guide recommended it only to find it wasn't worth the trip and we've had to keep travelling until we found one that was reasonable.

When you haven't been to an area before, it can be difficult choosing the right camping spot based on looking at a map and relying on the recommendations of a camping guide. Places can change season to season and information can quickly become outdated, this is true even for the best of the camping guides on the market.

Old Camping's goal is to give campers a bit of a heads up when it comes to finding camping spots that are tried and tested and consistently provide a good camping experience throughout the year. Here you'll find a list of some of our favourite Qld camping spots that we've either visited personally or have had friends recommend them from their trips. You will find that most of them are free camping spots while others charge a small fee.

We've also broken the listings up into the following categories:

Free Qld Camping Sites
  • Dog Friendly Qld Camping Sites
  • State and National Park Qld Camping Sites

Cheap Qld Camping Sites
  • Dog Friendly Qld Camping Sites
  • State and National Park Qld Camping Sites
